Biological Activity

Diazoxide is an antihypertensive, activates ATP-dependent K+ channels (Kir6). Induces activation of PKCε, an intermediate in the opening of mitoKATP channels, results in cardioprotection against hypoxia-induced death. Blocks desensitization of AMPA receptors.
