Background: Neuregulin-1 Isoform GGF2
By alternative splicing, the Neuregulin 1 gene ecodes at least 10 secreted or membrane-bound proteins, all of which contain an EGF-like domain. Neuregulin 1 isoforms bind and signal via the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases. Isoform GGF2 contains a unique kringle-like domain, plus Ig and EGF-like domains that are also present in multiple Neuregulin 1 isoforms.
