Background: FAM3D

FAM3D, also known as oncoprotein induced protein 1 and protein EF-7, is a secreted protein belonging to the FAM3 family of novel four-helix-bundle cytokine-like proteins. FAM3D is highly expressed in the testis and placenta. The amino acid sequence of mature mouse FAM3D is 74%, 88% and 75% identical to that of human, rat and canine FAM3D, respectively.
