Neuronal Lineage Markers
Neural stem cells (NSC) are able to differentiate into multiple neural lineages, including neural precursors, astrocytes, neurons, and oligodendrocytes. R&D Systems provides multiple quality tools for neural stem cell research including, primary cells, stem cell-specific media, and kits for cell expansion, differentiation and identification. We also offer a range of individual antibodies to investigate the expression of neuronal lineage-specific markers. Our available products include markers of undifferentiated neural stem cells, such as nestin. In addition, differentiated neurons can be indentified by testing the expression of several neuron-specific proteins, such as major neuronal cytoskeleton components beta-III tubulin, neurofilament and alpha-internexin.
