Scientific Data

Detection of Human Vav‑1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line and Raji human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human Vav-1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3786) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Sheep IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF016). A specific band was detected for Vav-1 at approximately 110 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Vav-1
The Vav-1 proto-oncogene is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for the low molecular weight GTPases of the Rho/Rac family. Vav-1 promotes intracellular signaling by its multiple protein binding motifs. It is a cytosolic protein primarily expressed in hematopoietic cells and plays an essential role in the proliferation and activation of T and B cells.
