Scientific Data
Detection of Mouse IRF3 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of NIH-3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line, DA3 mouse myeloma cell line, and C2C12 mouse myoblast cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse IRF3 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF4454) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF109). A specific band was detected for IRF3 at approximately 47 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: IRF3
IRF3 is a member of the interferon regulator transcription factor family. IRF3 is typically found inactive in the cytoplasm. IRF3 is activated by the toll like receptors (TLR3 and TLR4), as well as, viral entry. Upon activation and phosphorylation, IRF3 heterodimerizes with CREBBP, which translocates to the nucleus to stimulate transcription. IRF3 does not contain transactivation function on its own; it must either recruit or be part of a complex of transcription factors to stimulate gene transcription.
