TACS-XL In Situ Apoptosis Detection Kit - TACS Blue Summary

Assay Principle

TUNEL Assay Principle - TACS XL
View Full Assay Principle

The TACS-XL® In Situ Apoptosis Detection Kit - Blue Label is a TUNEL assay designed for fixed cells, embedded tissue, and frozen tissue using light and electron microscopy. This kit utilizes a novel approach for the detection of apoptosis that is based on incorporation of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) at the 3’ OH ends of the DNA fragments that form during apoptosis. This detection system uses a biotin conjugated anti-BrdU antibody and streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase.

This kit contains dNTP Mix, TdT Enzyme, TACS Blue Label®, Streptavidin-HRP, Nuclear Fast Red counterstain, buffers, and other reagents necessary for generating positive controls.

Label: BrdU/Conjugated BrdU Antibody/Streptavidin-HRP/TACS Blue Label
Testing Format: Light Microscopy, Electron Microscopy
Sample Type: Fixed cells, Embedded tissues, Frozen tissues
Size: 30 Tests

DNA Fragmentation in Mouse Lung Parenchyma Tissue Detected using the TACS XL® Blue Kit

Mouse lung parenchyma tissue was fixed and embedded in paraffin. Five micron sections were prepared and immobilized on slides. The tissue was labeled as describe in the TACS XL protocol (Catalog # 4828-30-BK) and analyzed by light microscopy for DNA fragmentation indicated by the blue stained cells. Data was provided courtesy of F. D'Agostini, University of Genova Via A. Pastore, Genova, Italy.

TACS XL is a registered trademark of Trevigen, Inc.
