Bio-Techne Go Everywhere Travel Grant - December Recipient Selected!
Bio-Techne’s Go Everywhere Travel Grant Program awards $1000 USD (or equivalent) to one researcher each month to attend the meeting of their choice. This grant program allows the researcher to attend more targeted meetings in their field and provides funding to support both small and large scientific associations that promote discovery and collaboration.
The recipient of the December 2018 'Go Everywhere Travel Grant' is Samantha Jones, a PhD Candidate in Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Samantha has chosen to apply the grant to attend the 25th Biennial Congress of the European Association for Cancer Research in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on June 30 - July 3, 2018!
Samantha Jones, a PhD Candidate in Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is the December 2018 recipient of the Bio-Techne Go Everywhere Travel Grant.
Her research uses high throughput sequencing data to understand the fundamental biology of lymphoid cancers in the familial context, with the ultimate aim of improving diagnostics and therapeutics for patients and their families. Samantha's research interests have expanded to characterize the molecular profile of lymphoma in the northern sea otter (Enhydra lutris kenyoni), in collaboration with the Vancouver Aquarium.
