Bio-Techne Go Everywhere Travel Grant - November Recipient Selected!

November 2018 Go Everywhere with Bio-Techne Travel Grant Awarded to PhD Student from the University of Liverpool!

Bio-Techne's Go Everywhere Travel Grant Program awards $1000 USD (or equivalent) to one researcher each month to attend the meeting of their choice. This grant program allows the researcher to attend more targeted meetings in their field and provides funding to support both small and large scientific associations that promote discovery and collaboration.

The recipient of the November 2018 grant is Anna Glaser, a PhD Student in the Women's and Children's Health department at the University of Liverpool in Liverpool, United Kingdom!

Anna has chosen to apply the grant to attend the 11th Congress on autoimmunity in Lisbon, Portugal on May 16 - 20, 2018.

The work to be presented for this conference is part of Anna's PhD project. Its goal was to investigate the differences of juvenile-onset systemic lupus erythematosus patients stratified dependent on an Interferon-induced gene signature. Resulting from this, she further studied the influence of different stimuli from the lupus micro-environment on the signature. Additionally, response with release of S100A8/S100A9, an important biomarker in systemic lupus erythematosus was further investigated.

Anna used Human S100A8/S100A9 Heterodimer Quantikine ELISA Kit by R&D Systems for patient samples and different stimulations.
